July 4th Weekend

Andrew got 4 days off for July 4th and it was so nice having him around! I only felt bad for him because this was his last real days off for a very long time.  We tried to keep busy and he tried not to work all weekend. We went to dinner and a movie. He did yard work and re-stained our front yard fence.

We had nursery duty on Sunday and then had a little picnic lunch afterwards in our neighborhood. On Monday, we went golfing on base. And by we I mean Andrew golfed while I drove the cart! It was a lot of fun.

We saw fireworks from our common area in our neighborhood and the place that set them off was less than a mile away. We were going to go to the beach for fireworks but decided against it since we had to get up early to drive to Hollywood the next day.

On Tuesday we had tickets for The Price is Right game show. Anyone can get free tickets but what we found out is that during summer months you should try to arrive over 2 hours early from what your ticket time says!!! Well, we didn’t get there early enough so they filled up the studio before we had a chance. It was a bummer but we ended up hanging out in the area and then ending our day at Olive Garden (my favorite!). It doesn’t sound like we did too many interesting things and maybe we could have done more, but we just enjoyed being together and playing games and watching movies and relaxing as much as possible. I know Andrew needed that and I enjoyed every minute of it. Now he’s got to work 3 busy days and cram 5 days of work into them and then he’s off to Arizona for 2 weeks. Once he returns from this trip, it will be just a couple of weeks until his out to sea trip and while we wait for baby boy to come! Wow-time is flying by.
